I am a composer, musician and sound designer based in Derbyshire. I specialise in making music and sound for theatre and contemporary dance and I have been creating music professionally since 1998. I have created music for and performed in pieces for contemporary dance, mainstream theatre and theatre for young audiences. To hear some of the work I've made please take a look at my music page.

Recently I have worked with Nottingham Playhouse, Theatre Hullabaloo, Darren Ellis Dance and Richard Alston Dance Company. I have performed at The Royal Opera House, Sadlers Wells, The Robin Howard Theatre, Birmingham Rep, Salisbury Playhouse and St Pauls Cathedral, London. See my credits page for more details.

As well as composing music for theatre, I have also worked with several songwriters to help shape and realise their musical ideas. This could be as simple as mixing and mastering a track or a much more involved process including arranging and recording full instrumental backing.

I play percussion, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, accordion, mandolin and ukulele. I work from my small composing/recording studio using industry standard professional digital recording equipment, extensive sound libraries and digital synths as well as lots of traditional instruments. I can also provide high quality and unobtrusive location recording solutions for orchestras, choirs, ensembles etc along with mixing and mastering services. See my technical services page for more details.

Having worked extensivly within the contemporary dance field, I'm also an experienced and dynamic dance accompanist and have spent many years 'in the corner' for some of the most highly regarded dance companies and conservatoires in Europe, including The Rambert School, LCDS, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, Richard Alston Dance Company and the national CAT program among others. See my dance page for more details.

I am Co-Artistic Director at WinterWalker, a physical theatre company specialising in small to mid-scale touring theatre for families and children.
